The Arizona Cardinals are in a precarious position heading into a tough Week 10 matchup at the Seattle Seahawks.
They do have a bit of momentum after defeating the Dallas Cowboys on “Monday Night Football” to end a five-game losing streak.
The main subplot of Arizona’s up-and-down season has been the fact that the offense has looked better in recent weeks since Jacoby Brissett took over at quarterback in place of injured Kyler Murray.
Now sidelined until at least Week 14 after being placed on injured reserve, analyst Dan Orlovsky recently made a bold prediction about Murray’s future.
“I think Kyler Murray has taken his last snap as an Arizona Cardinal. Just the way that this offense has looked under Jacoby Brissett and the reality of the injury, and where this organization is headed under GM Monti Ossenfort and head coach Jonathan Gannon. Kyler’s still unbelievably talented, but he’ll be playing elsewhere next year,” Orlovsky said.

Parting with Murray won’t be easy, as he is on a huge contract that runs through the 2028 season.
In addition, as solid as Brissett has been, he’s not the long-term solution.
If the next franchise quarterback were already on the roster, it would be easier to envision the Cardinals moving on from Murray.
A rookie replacement could be an option, considering how many first-round quarterbacks are expected to be available in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Brissett has six total touchdowns and one interception in his three starts, and he threw for more yards in each of them than Murray did in any of his five.
Arizona simply hasn’t had the success that many envisioned after selecting Murray with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he’ll be 29 when next season starts, so it’s hard to imagine things getting much better.
