Mac McClung has had the kind of season that a three-time slam dunk champion doesn’t usually have. Earlier this season, the Chicago Bulls decided to give McClung a chance. Unfortunately, that deal ended faster than the ripeness of the bananas you buy at the store.
After being the savior of the dunk contest for multiple seasons and having a pretty strong resume in the G-League, many wondered why McClung wasn’t getting his chance in the NBA.

Well, that all changed when it was announced that the Indiana Pacers had decided to bring him in on a deal for the rest of the season.

Are you sitting down? Because you won’t believe what is being reported now. NBA insider Shams Charania is reporting that the Pacers are waiving McClung.

On The Way Out
The Indiana Pacers are waiving guard Mac McClung, sources tell ESPN. The reigning three-time NBA dunk contest champion signed a multiyear, non-guaranteed with the Pacers last week and scored 6.3 points in 11.3 minutes per game over three contests.

After just three games, the Pacers decided that McClung’s services would no longer be needed. The deal agreed to was a non-guaranteed one, but it doesn’t make sense that McClung still can’t find a home.
The reigning dunk champion is being bounced around from Eastern Conference foes. So, who is going to take the chance next? I mean, if we keep up with the geographical moves, maybe the Milwaukee Bucks are next.

Whatever the case may be, I think it’s fair for the kid to at least get a whole year before we shut this down entirely. No one wants to see him in a jersey for a team he doesn’t play for at another dunk contest.
