Most Philadelphia Eagles fans were surprised by the trade for Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jaire Alexander after just getting New York Jets cornerback Michael Carter II a few days prior. Despite that, a new thought came up in fans' minds: Alexander's revenge game against the Green Bay Packers is on.
Or is it?
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni addressed the media after a hectic trade deadline for general manager Howie Roseman and the team. Sirianni spoke about having Alexander's two-time Pro Bowl resume on the calendar, but didn't quite say whether he would play in Week 10 against his old team, the Packers.
“We obviously think highly of the player we have now on the field, that’s why we went and got him. So, you just go to work, you practice, you see where he is, and you see what it’s going to look like on Sunday. So, excited to get out there with him today and watch him go.”
Alexander's role is still being figured out with Eagles' defense
The ultimate mystery surrounding the Eagles' entry into the Week 10 showdown against the Packers is what the combination will be in the secondary. Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has to pick between Cooper DeJean on the outside and Carter in the slot of DeJean in the slot and Alexander on the outside.
Alexander has not had a good 2025 campaign with the Ravens this season. He's only played in two games and struggled in his debut against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1 of the season.
Carter, himself, is having a disappointing 2025 season. He hasn't been terrible, but his production has gone down from his previous few seasons with the Jets.

It could be a massive decision that'll affect the outcome of the season. Regardless, the Eagles have enough depth at cornerback that whatever combination they roll with, they will be in a solid position against the Packers.
