Blue Jays’ Bo Bichette Linked To Two AL Contenders By Insider

Toronto Blue Jays superstar Bo Bichette did wonders for his reputation in the 2025 World Series. By showing a willingness to perform on the biggest stage with one bad leg, and by delivering clutch hits while injured (including a massive three-run homer in Game7), Bichette reminded everyone of his toughness, elite talent and desire to win. That’s all going to make for an interesting bidding war for Bichette’s services on the free-agent market this winter, something MLB Network’s Jon Morosi spoke about this week. “The way (Bichette) performed in the World Series, basically on one healthy leg, opened a lot of eyes in multiple ways,” Morosi said. “It showed a lot of toughness (and) a lot of team-first thinking for him to play second base … he was able to do something for the betterment of his team, which also ended up working to his benefit, and here’s why.” “There are teams that might not necessarily need a shortstop, but that would consider (Bichette) as a second baseman,” Morosi continued. “And I think that’s where it could get really interesting.” Story continues below advertisement What does Bo Bichette's value look like after his performance in the World Series?@jonmorosi offers insight into Bichette's market and explains why his versatility as a shortstop and second baseman makes him such an intriguing free agent. pic.twitter.com/ndxaNs7qSx— MLB Network (@MLBNetwork) November 6, 2025 “A team like the Seattle Mariners (could be a fit) … even a team like the New York Yankees. If Bo was able to move around the infield, the number of potential landing spots for him grows … Bo Bichette’s infield versatility, and the fact that … there’s a belief he’s going to be able to heal from that leg injury without needing surgery … these are all really encouraging data points for Bo Bichette, and I think he’s going to find a robust market.” One team Morosi didn’t mention for Bichette was the Boston Red Sox, but they can’t necessarily be ruled out, especially if Boston ends up not re-signing Alex Bregman. Bichette could theoretically play second base alongside Trevor Story (shortstop) and Marcelo Mayer (third base), which would definitely have Red Sox fans excited. There is a growing belief that Toronto wants to run things back in 2026 with their core, which would presumably involve Bichette.
