It's safe to say that Jaelan Phillips is happy to be with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Looking to bolster their pass rush, the Eagles acquired Phillips from the Miami Dolphins before Tuesday's NFL trade deadline. On Thursday, Phillips was asked how he's been getting acclimated to his new environment. Phillips, who was already excited about going to the Eagles, is even happier about his situation.
"I thought I was excited Day 1," Phillips said, in a video shared by Eliot Shorr-Parks, 94WIP.com. "Talk to me now. This is literally the greatest thing that's happened to me in my whole life, probably."
He continued.
"It's just awesome," Phillips said. "The guys are awesome, super welcoming. I love the environment here. I love the vibe here. The city of Philly has given me a very warm welcome. I got about 20 times the amount of Instagram likes that I ever got on a post before from the Philly fans."
Before getting traded to the Eagles, Phillips' entire NFL career was spent with the Dolphins. He's recorded 177 tackles and 26 sacks in his career. In 2025, Phillips has tallied 25 tackles with three sacks.
While Philadelphia heads into its Week 10 showdown with the Green Bay Packers at 6-2, the Eagles have struggled to pressure opposing quarterbacks. Through their first eight games, the Eagles have recorded only 16 sacks, tied (with the Las Vegas Raiders) for the seventh-worst total in the NFL.
