Bryan Bresee was added to the New Orleans Saints injury report Thursday with a back injury.

Bresee, who has never missed a game in his career, was a limited participant in the practice session. It is not clear whether his injury popped up during practice.

The third-year defensive lineman has recorded 1.5 sacks and 2 tackles for loss while starting all nine games and playing a career-high 71 % of the defensive snaps for New Orleans this season.

Right tackle Taliese Fuaga continued to miss practice with the ankle injury he suffered against the Los Angeles Rams, and defensive tackle Davon Godchaux continued his regular rest program on Thursdays.

They were the only Saints players who were not present for Thursday's practice. Fuaga has already indicated he likely will not play against the Carolina Panthers this weekend, the Saints' last game before their bye.

The remainder of the Saints injury report remained unchanged. Running back Alvin Kamara (ankle) and tight end Jack Stoll (ankle) were limited in practice, while quarterback Taysom Hill (knee), defensive end Cameron Jordan (ankle) and defensive end Jonah Williams (shoulder) were full participants.

The Carolina Panthers upgraded running back Rico Dowdle (quadricep) on Thursday's injury report; he was limited in practice after being held out of Wednesday's session.

Carolina also added one of its star defensive players, defensive tackle Derrick Brown, to the injury report with an elbow injury. Brown was limited in practice.

### Palmer still out

It doesn't sound like Trey Palmer is going to be part of the group that replaces Rashid Shaheed's production in the lineup for the foreseeable future.

Palmer, whom the Saints claimed on waivers prior to the start of the season from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has been on injured reserve since early October with an ankle injury.

"His (injury) is going to take a little while," coach Kellen Moore said. "He's progressing the best he can, but he'll be a while."

Palmer, a Louisiana native, has also dealt with a hamstring issue and has not yet made his Saints debut. He's appeared in 32 career NFL games, all with the Buccaneers, catching 51 passes for 557 yards and four touchdowns.
