Warriors make Steph Curry illness announcement for playing status vs. Nuggets

The Golden State Warriors were shorthanded on Wednesday night and lost.

They're going to be shorthanded again on Friday.

They announced on Thursday evening that Stephen Curry will remain out due to illness when the Warriors take on the Denver Nuggets.

Curry missed the defeat to the Kings on Wednesday while sick after playing through it in a Tuesday win over the Suns.

The Warriors also played Wednesday without Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler.

Green has been announced as probable to play on Friday against the Nuggets.

Butler is listed as questionable with his lower back soreness.

Denver will present a formidable test, as usual, led by Nikola Jokic. Green being available would be key to help guard Jokic.

Friday night is an NBA Cup game, too, part of the in-season tournament, so there's a bit more sense of urgency, at least for teams valuing the cup games.

The Warriors, of course, will be most focused on letting their veteran stars get healthy.

They'll also want to make sure Curry doesn't pass the sickness bug around to his teammates.

Soon enough, Golden State should be at full strength again. In the meantime, it'll be more shots for the likes of Will Richard and Jonathan Kuminga.
