This Packers’ WR could be about to explode in second half

The Packers‘ offense is going to need to change, maybe significantly in the second half of the season.

After losing leading receiver Tucker Kraft to a torn ACL, there is now added pressure not just on quarterback Jordan Love, but Green Bay’s receiving corps to step up and flash consistent big-play potential, as the backbone of what has become an inconsistent offense.

However, ahead of a Week 10 clash against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles, one of Love’s favorite targets could be set to level up his game.

Romeo Doubs could be in for expanded role for Packers

Beginning Monday night against Philadelphia’s revamped defense, Romeo Doubs could see a dramatic uptick in his role and possibly even his production.

“While Love might not have a No. 1 receiver,” Eric Moody writes for ESPN. “He clearly has a favorite. He has targeted Romeo Doubs a team-high 52 times, and the disparity could become even greater because Love’s second-favorite target, Tucker Kraft (44 targets), sustained a season-ending torn ACL on Sunday.”

As the Packers look for first-round rookie Matthew Golden to emerge, and Christian Watson to continue to round into form two games into his return from a torn ACL, Doubs has the potential to feast.

So far this season, Doubs has caught 34 passes for 441 yards and four touchdowns, while averaging 13 yards per reception, just a tick below his career-high set last fall. Without Kraft, Doubs could see Love looking his direction even more often and could become a far bigger piece of Green Bay’s puzzle.
