Next step of Milutin Osmajic case today as Preston and Burnley await verdict

Another hearing in the case of Preston North End striker Milutin Osmajic is taking place today.

The Montenegro international has been waiting since March to discover a verdict after being charged by the FA. Following racism allegations by Burnley midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, Osmajic was charged with an aggravated breach of FA rule E3. The striker ‘strongly refuted’ the claims.

His FA hearing took place in late September. PNE directorPeter Ridsdale, managerPaul Heckingbottomand assistant boss Stuart McCall have all voiced their frustration over the length of time taken in the process.

When asked if PNE are preparing for some news ahead of Saturday’s 12:30 kick-off at Millwall, Heckingbottom said on Wednesday: “There's a hearing on the 7th. It's just been far too long. It's the next step, that's all we know.”

Earlier in the week, McCall said: “Listen, for me it's a complete farce. An absolute, complete farce. What's going on? It's not fair on the lad. People think it's hard for us, can you imagine the lad?

“He's just hanging about and hanging about, on something which I feel really strongly about. In my opinion, it's ridiculous it's gone on this long. Although he doesn't show it - comes in with a smile on his face, trains as well as he can - it must be playing on his mind.

“It's only natural when something's been hanging over you for so long. We'll see whenever the outcome is made and whatever comes of it, but I've been really, really disappointed in the process, I've got to say.”
