Wayne Rooney spots change in Liverpool fans vs Real Madrid

Rooney started his career at Everton before moving to another Liverpool rival, Manchester United.

In turn, he obviously gets quite a bit of stick from their fanbase much of the time.

However, when speaking on the latest episode of The Wayne Rooney Show, the ex-Man Utd striker admitted he didn’t receive as much stick at Anfield as he has in previous years.

He said: “The staff there are always really welcoming. Um, and I actually didn’t get as much this year as I did last season. So, but no, it was a good game.”

Wayne Rooney to lose record to Liverpool player

After seeing off Real Madrid, Liverpool face Manchester City in a huge Premier League meeting on Sunday.

The loser of that tie could fall as far as 10 points behind the current leaders, Arsenal, so it is a must-win for both.

The Reds have won the previous two meetings without the Sky Blues scoring.

Meanwhile, it could be a historic day for Mohamed Salah, who matched Rooney’s record for most goals and assists at a single Premier League club last weekend.

Both players sit on 276 goal contributions at present, but the Egyptian is expected to surpass that total very soon.
