How much Chelsea’s Estevao Willian is currently worth in comparison to Lamine Yamal

Chelsea have reaped the rewards of working hard early on to secure the services of Estevao Willian for a price that now looks a bargain.

Estevao finally joined the Blues over the summer for a fee of £29m, with a number of their elite rivals disappointed that they were beaten to the deal.

PSG wanted to sign Estevao, and now face the prospect of a potential Round of 16 tie against him in the Champions League if they finish on the same amount of points as they are all on now.

As Estevao breaks records not even Lionel Messi could set in the Champions League, the easy comparison to be made is to Lamine Yamal, who continues to be recognised as one of the best players in the world despite being just 18 years of age.

Chelsea’s Estevao Willian now worth more than £100m

As per the CIES Football Observatory, Chelsea’s Brazilian wonderkid is worth around £104m, more than three times what they signed him for just a few months ago.

He still has some way to go to reach the levels of Yamal though. According to the same source, the Barcelona man is valued at more than £300m after finishing as runner up in the Ballon d’Or awards.

The Brazil international is just 15 appearances into his career at Chelsea, although we are predicting Estevao will start against Wolves at the weekend.

His best performances have arguably come under the lights in the Champions League though, and the next game could be one where he makes a real statement to world football.

Estevao vs Yamal set for Stamford Bridge

With Chelsea looking to bounce back instantly from the disappointment against Qarabag, the opportunity for supporters to truly see the difference between the two players is around the corner.

The Blues’ next Champions League game will see them host Barcelona at Stamford Bridge, needing a result to keep their fading hopes of a top eight finish in the group stages alive.

The Brazilian is in good form in the competition, scoring twice in his last two appearances as he closes in on becoming a more regular starter for the club.

Enzo Maresca has done his best to protect the young talent, however the decision is getting harder to not start clearly one of their most creative players in the majority of games.
