Tottenham star Yves Bissouma had more than £800,000 allegedly stolen from his VIP Coutts bank account in a fraud case which has seen one individual charged.

The midfielder's alleged losses took place between September 2022 and June 2024 and Bissouma himself sounded the alarm. Maurice Gomes, 31, was initially arrested over a year ago and has now been charged.

The Sun have obtained court records that show Gomes is alleged to have “dishonestly” transferred Bissouma’s cash to himself without the player's “knowledge or consent”. Prosecutors claim Gomes alleged act saw him bank transfer himself a total of £834,334.40 “to make a personal gain”.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed Gomes was charged with two counts of fraud by false representation in October. If he is found guilty The maximum sentence for each offence is 10 years.

Bissouma banks with Coutts, which is used by a number of celebrities, billionaires and royals. The Mali international is thought to be earning around £50,000-a-week whilst playing for the north London side.

He lives in a £1.4million, six-bedroom house in Enfield, north London.

A source said: “This has been deeply hurtful for Yves. It’s been a tough year for him on and off the pitch, and this hanging over his head will have contributed to that.”

Bissouma is currently sidelined through injury after picking up the issue back in October whilst on international duty. He could still be out for an extended period after struggling to make an impression on new boss Thomas Frank, who prefers other options in the middle of the pitch.
