BEREA, Ohio — It’s probably not great when a team’s offensive head coach, who has been publicly praised organizationally for his play-calling acumen, gives up play-calling for the second season in a row.

Last year was different for Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski. The Browns were trying to meld two offenses, his and Ken Dorsey’s, and it didn’t work. It raised eyebrows when he didn’t give up play-calling until after Deshaun Watson’s season-ending Achilles injury.
