Jamie Carragher’s Borussia Dortmund love affair appears to have been short lived with reports claiming he was blocked from joining their away end.
The Liverpool great was back among BVB fans, this time in Manchester where he witnessed a 4-1 win for City in his role as a CBS pundit.

Jamie Carragher chugs pint and celebrates with Borussia Dortmund fans in Yellow Wall at Champions League clash between Borussia Dortmund and PSG
Carragher joined Dortmund fans for a march from the city centre to the Etihad stadium, but supposedly didn’t make it past security.
The Daily Mail claims that both UEFA and City themselves rejected a request from US broadcasters CBS to let the former defender join the travelling yellow wall.
They report: “His interaction ended at the ground when a request to watch the game in the away end was swiftly turned down.
“While both UEFA and City declined to comment, it is understood each was quick to issue a rebuttal.

“UEFA's view was that the pundit's media credentials did not stretch to him swapping the press area for the stands, while City believed the presence of a former Liverpool player in the away end and supporting the opposition would not have been the wisest move and could well have caused a problem.”
However, Carragher has since responded to those claims in a social media post to the journalist who wrote the story.
“Just trying to have a good time with the Dortmund fans Mike,” he replied.
“It was no problem it wasn’t allowed. Next time message me & I’ll tell you all you need to know, rather than Simon at Man City giving you a story.
“Probably explains why you’re so sympathetic around the 115 charges.”

He said at the time he’d had at ‘about eight pints’ in BVB’s famous standing ‘Yellow Wall’ and was later still enjoying himself during a slurry interview with Jadon Sancho.
This time around he joined the away Dortmund fans on a march to the stadium where he was sporting a club scarf around his neck, a beer in one hand and a flare in the other.
Reporting back to CBS during his travels, he told his colleagues: “It's been fantastic.
“They're enjoying themselves, they're looking forward to the game and a little bit worried about Erling Haaland.
“But they've got their own man up front in Serhou Guirassy who we think might be able to cause a problem or two.
“They're in full flight and hopefully by the end of the game they're going to really enjoy themselves and I might join them.”

Carragher was at least better behaved than his last Dortmund interactions which saw defeated PSG manager Luis Enrique refuse to speak to him.
Before speaking to countryman Sancho, he was asked by CBS host Kate Abdo if he was up to the job.
"You know what, that is a fair point because I haven't had too much to eat. I've had a cheeseburger at about half two,” he replied.

"It might explain why I am slurring my words. I've had about eight pints in the Yellow Wall!
“I've got a new family, a family of friends, we all look after each other, I gave them a few bob after half time."
