Thomas Tuchel has named his latest England squad ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania later this month, and some eyebrows have certainly been raised.
The Three Lions boss has recalled big names like Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden to the squad after they missed out last time, as their good form for Real Madrid and Manchester City respectively, while Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton has finally earned his spot too.
But there are still some question marks about some of the names he has included, and also some of the names he hasn't included, and GIVEMESPORT has picked out eight names that the manager got wrong on this occasion.
Four Stars Who Shouldn't Be in the England Squad
Jarell Quansah - Bayer Leverkusen
Jarell Quansah pushing Cole Palmer
After leaving Liverpool in the summer for Bayer Leverkusen, Quansah was expected to kick on as a first-choice start in Germany which could shoot him into England contention. But while he has been playing regularly, his performances have hardly ripped up any trees, and it's odd that he's still regularly being called upon to represent his country.
He's nowhere near the level of Marc Guehi, John Stones and Ezri Konsa right now and while he may be an option in the future, right now there is no reason for him to be involved.
Nico O'Reilly - Manchester City
Nico O'Reilly Man City
O'Reilly's development under Pep Guardiola over the last 12 months has been excellent, and the 20-year-old has made the left-back spot at the Etihad Stadium his own in the absence of Rayan Ait-Nouri.
But while his form has been good, left-back is a problem position for England at the moment and there are better options than him who are available, who should be playing ahead of the World Cup - especially with the team already qualified. His time will come, but he would be better served continuing with the Under-21s.
Jordan Henderson - Brentford
Jordan Henderson in action for Brentford
Tuchel has explained several times before that Henderson is in the squad for his leadership qualities rather than his actual footballing ability these days, and that's just a waste of a spot. The pool of English talent is too deep for pity spots to be handed out, and Henderson's time at the highest level is long gone.
While Brentford are performing well, and he is at the heart of it, Tuchel would be much better served by trying players out in that position than just naming Henderson as someone who can bark orders and maintain standards.
Anthony Gordon - Newcastle
Anthony Gordon England
While Gordon has impressed on international duty this season under Tuchel, his club form simply shouldn't be getting ignored when there are so many top wingers available to the manager.
Gordon hasn't registered a single goal or assist in the Premier League this season, and two of his four Newcastle goals this season have come from the penalty spot. With so many players pushing for a spot in the attacking area of the squad, this was a perfect opportunity to hand someone a chance to stake their claim for a place.
Players Who Should've Been in the England Squad
Miles Lewis-Skelly - Arsenal
myles lewis-skelly-1
Without a doubt England's best available option at left-back currently, and while he isn't playing much for Arsenal at the moment, the context is available there to show why.
Lewis-Skelly has been an excellent left-back for England and the only reason he isn't playing more is that the Gunners have Europe's best defence, so they have no reason to change things. With Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall still unavailable, Lewis-Skelly should be in the squad at the very least, even if not guaranteed a starting spot, because he's the countries best option in that position.
Harry Maguire - Manchester United
Harry Maguire Man Utd
Considering Dan Burn is in the England set up (and deservedly so), there is no reason why Man Utd star Harry Maguire couldn't follow out Tuchel's defensive instructions, and his performances this season have been good enough to earn him a recall ahead of players like Quansah.
Should he be starting? No. But as an option in the squad to provide experience and a set-piece magnet in both boxes, this feels like a missed opportunity by the former Chelsea and PSG manager.
Jack Grealish - Everton

Grealish left Man City to join Everton in the summer and play regularly, and ever since making the switch to Merseyside he has been one of the most influential players in his team once again.
The 30-year-old has registered four assists for the Toffees, more than anyone else in the Premier League this season (tied with Mohammed Kudus and Quilindischy Hartman), and is also capable of playing in a more central role too. With no more international football until March now, this was the ideal chance to hand him a lifeline of making it to the World Cup and getting a closer look at the winger.
Danny Welbeck - Brighton
danny welbeck
Harry Kane is the undisputed starter for the England national team, and rightly so. But the back-up options are limited due to injuries, bad form and a lack of high-level football, and that should have opened the door for Welbeck to make a stunning return.
Dominic Solanke is injured, Ollie Watkins has scored just once in the Premier League this season, but Welbeck has already scored six - a tally only bettered by Erling Haaland. Despite being 34, this is the best Welbeck has been playing in a long time, and it would have done no harm to reward his good form and take a look considering the issues surrounding the position.
