Chelsea return to Premier League action on Saturday night when they welcome Wolves to Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Maresca’s side defeated rivals Tottenham Hotspur in their last league outing, but were then held to a 2-2 draw by Azerbaijani side Qarabag in the Champions League in Baku on Wednesday.
The Blues currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, and Maresca will expect to see his side pick up all three points against a Wolves side that are yet to win in the league this term and are also currently without a manager after Vitor Pereira was sacked last weekend.
In the build up to Saturday’s game at Stamford Bridge, it has emerged that the West London outfit are contemplating a shock move to re-sign one of their former players.
According to Spanish outlet Marca via CaughtOffside, Chelsea are considering a surprise move to sign defender Antonio Rudiger when his contract with Real Madrid expires.

Rudiger, 32, departed Chelsea as a free agent in 2022 after a successful five-year spell with the club, during which he won the Champions League.
He has since established himself as an important player for Real, making more than 150 appearances for the club across all competitions.
Rudiger has made just one appearance so far this season, however, largely due to a hamstring injury picked up back in September.
The Germany international’s contract with the La Liga leaders is set to expire at the end of the current campaign and, although the Spanish club are said to be open to the idea reopening talks about a new deal, Rudiger is also on the radar of his former club.
The centre-back made more than 200 appearances for the Blues during his time in London, and the report claims that the player has always been someone that Chelsea have refused to rule out bringing back for a second spell at the club.
