West Ham finally picked up their first win under Nuno Espírito Santo last weekend, beating Newcastle United 3–1 to momentarily lift spirits in East London.
But despite the much-needed victory, the Hammers remain in serious danger — sitting 18th in the Premier League table after a quarter of the season gone.
Defensive lapses have been a constant issue, while scoring goals has proven equally difficult.
With Michail Antonio gone and Callum Wilson struggling for both form and fitness, one of the biggest disappointments has beenNiclas Füllkrug.
And now, it seems his West Ham career could be nearing an early end.

According to his agent,Niclas Füllkrug is open to leaving West Ham United in the January transfer window.
The £90,000-per-week German striker joined from Borussia Dortmund for around £27 million in August 2024 but has endured a nightmare spell in England, plagued by injuries and form issues.
His agent,Thorsten Wirth, told theTomorrow Business Podcast (via theEvening Standard) that a mid-season move could now make sense for all parties.
“Looking back, we have to say the transfer didn’t work out. There’s no point in sugar-coating it,” Wirth admitted.“This always has to happen in cooperation with the club, but I believe it can make sense to change something there.”
Füllkrug has missed31 games for club and country since making the move to the London Stadium and has scored just three goals in claret and blue.
“Time and again, at a point where you said, ‘Now he’s coming, now he’ll show England that it wasn’t just a good European Championship,’ another injury came along — and that’s a shame,” Wirth added.
For Füllkrug, who still harbours hopes of representing Germany at next summer’s World Cup, a move away from West Ham may be the only realistic route to revitalising his career.
