Leeds United first-choice attacker injury worry and Willy Gnonto update for Nottingham Forest…

Leeds Utd: The next few games are going to be tough for Leeds Utd

Daniel Farke has provided his Leeds United team news for Sunday’s huge Premier League clash at Nottingham Forest.

Leeds United could be without a first-choice attacker for Sunday's crunch game against Nottingham Forest.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin's availability remains up in the air thanks to a groin issue he picked up at Brighton last weekend. The former Everton striker is Daniel Farke's starting number 9 and has a vital role in the way Leeds play, but it is not yet known if he will pass fit to take on his old boss Sean Dyche and Forest.

"It's an adductor injury, a little strain," said Farke. "It will be a tight race, we'll make a late call. He's doing his rehab, progressing well but is not in team training yet. We still have a couple more days but we won't take any risks. It'll be a late decision.

Little question mark over Sebastiaan Bornauw, got a hit on his MCL this week. But all the others are fine and ready."

Willy Gnonto has not kicked a ball in anger since mid-September having suffered a calf problem following Leeds' defeat at Fulham. Once that issue cleared up he had to go under the knife for a minor hernia operation, costing him more time away from the pitch. Farke says the Italian international will '100 per cent' be in contention for selection after the international break but with two weeks of team training under his belt he has a chance of making Sunday's squad.

"Willy was out for quite a long time with calf problems and hernia surgery on both sides," said Farke. "He's back in team training for two weeks, you can see him growing each and every day. He's available and ready for selection. It's not a risk any more but we'll see if it's enough for him to be ready for this game, there's a chance he could be picked up for this game.
