Jaire Alexander's first action with Eagles reminded A.J. Brown of painful past

Sometimes, it's better to leave the past in the past, but new Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jaire Alexander used it as a good reminder of starting fresh relationships with his teammates.

Alexander practiced with the Eagles for the first time since being traded from the Baltimore Ravens to Philly for a Day 3 draft pick. In his first public comments since the trade, Alexander shared his amusing first conversation with Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, which brought them back to Brazil last year.

"Yeah, I mean it's been cool. When I seen A.J. (Brown), I came up and hugged him and I said 'You know, we're not in Brazil anymore, you know?' So, it was cool. Man, he laughed about it. All those guys are cool."

Brown brought the pain to Alexander in Eagles-Packers Brazil showdown in 2024

In the 2024 season opener, the Eagles and Packers were in a heavyweight fight that ended in a 34-29 win for the Birds. Brown had the final laugh on Alexander as he finished with five receptions for 119 yards and a 67-yard touchdown catch in the win.

A tough moment to say the least for Alexander, but he has proven to have more positive games than negative. He has been to two Pro Bowls and has consistently played at a high level as one of the top outside corners in the NFL.

This year has been a different story as he got off to a rough start with his new team, the Ravens. His first start in Week 1 was bad to say the least, as he got torched by the Buffalo Bills in their loss. After that, he would only play one more game before being a healthy scratch for most of the year.

Entering his new team, Alexander has hope of being the starter on the outside with Quinyon Mitchell and giving his career a much-needed reboot. The Eagles still need to decide whether Alexander starts on the outside or if Cooper DeJean gets moved out there with newcomer Michael Carter II getting the slot position.

These will be an important next few days for Alexander as his new head coach, Nick Sirianni, was non-committal on whether his cornerback would start.
