Liverpool are set to face Manchester City in their next Premier League clash on Sunday.
The game is set to be held at the Etihad with both clubs looking to get a win as they look to close the gap between themselves and league leaders, Arsenal.
Even though it’s only November, the game already feels like a six-pointer with both teams in a decent run of form.

Last season, Liverpool ran away with the Premier League title, but now, nobody knows how things are going to pan out, especially with the recent form Arne Slot’s men have been in.

Despite this, most fans are feeling fairly positive about their chances with Wayne Rooney sharing a way that he thinks could guarantee the Anfield outfit all three points.

If Liverpool hadn’t won both of their games against Aston Villa and Real Madrid over the last week, fans would probably be expecting their team to get pummelled.
The month of November was long and gruelling for Slot’s men, with the club hardly able to string five passes together.
In the end, the Dutchman had to revert to his old midfield trio, and since then, things have seemed to go much more smoothly.

However, even though Man City may not be the team they were a couple of years ago, the fact that they’re ahead of the Reds in the table says all you need to know about how difficult the game is going to be.
And now, ahead of the clash, Rooney has shared how Liverpool could end up beating the Cityzens on Sunday.
“You deny the space and that takes, you know, your midfield players, your wide men tucking in and being hard to play through and then playing on the counterattack,” he said on The Wayne Rooney Show.
“I think that’s the best way to stop City at the minute, really, is if Liverpool go high press and Haaland will be licking his lips, looking and waiting for balls in behind.”
Liverpool will need to be on top of their game against Manchester City
Liverpool may be in decent form at the moment, but that doesn’t mean that they’re definitely going to beat the Cityzens.
Erling Haaland is unstoppable at the moment, and if he even gets half a chance to shoot against Giorgi Mamardashvili, he’s more than likely to convert it.
The Norwegian has been City’s shining light this season, and while the rest of his teammates have performed well, without the former Borussia Dortmund talisman, they’d be nowhere near as good.

If Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate manage to shut Haaland down and constantly man-mark him, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be able to get the better of their rivals.
However, if they allow him to even have a slight chance of scoring, he’s bound to take it, and things could turn ugly for Liverpool in double quick time, which would be far from ideal.
