According to a report from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Real Madrid is interested in Bayern Munich star center-back Dayot Upamecano.
How serious is it, though? Well Plettenberg says that Real Madrid is already speaking to Upamecano’s representatives:
🚨🔴 Real Madrid have a concrete interest in Dayot #Upamecano, but there is no verbal agreement yet. As previously reported, Real are ready to move if an extension with FC Bayern fails.
⚠️ However, Upa and his agents are in negotiations with Bayern. There is no full agreement yet, but talks are currently progressing positively. With a new contract running until 2030 or 2031, he could earn up to €20m gross per year.
However, Bild (via @iMiaSanMia) is reporting that there is no truth to the report from Plettenberg:
There’s no truth to the report that Dayot Upamecano and Real Madrid have an agreement. While there’s contact between Upamecano’s representatives and the Spanish club, the two parties are far from reaching an agreement. A contract extension at Bayern is still very much on the table. Negotiations are ongoing. Bayern would like to clarify the Frenchman’s future before the end of the year. However, the player’s camp has no problem letting the matter drag on into the new year, when he will be allowed to officially speak to other clubs from January.
So…what should we make of this?
Upamecano’s agents are going to shop him to every big club in Europe — that is their job after all. Bayern Munich is doing the same with Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi and Liverpool FC’s Ibrahima Konaté.
It is all part of the game these days. Every club will be posturing as we get closer to January and fans, well, they will be tense.
Buckle up everyone…it could be a bumpy ride.

Song of the Week: “For Whom the Bell Tolls” by Metallica
Let’s go back to 1984 and a take a listen to that little band from California — Metallica.
From “Ride the Lightning”, “For Whom the Bells Tolls” was one of the standout tracks and even after all these years, still brings some power. Enjoy:
Read between the lines
Bayern Munich sent scouts to watch Feyenoord’s Givairo Read play against VfB Stuttgart in the Europa League on Thursday per Voetbal International (via @iMiaSanMia):
Bayern will send scouts to Stuttgart tonight to watch Givairo Read live in action against VfB in the Europa League. The club has been watching the 19-year old for some time, they’ve assessed his strengths, potential areas for improvement; have mapped everything out and are now fully convinced. Tonight’s game is a good opportunity to see if the decision is justified and to then officially contact Feyenoord, which hasn’t happened yet. Read is aware of Bayern’s interest, but for now he’s not distracted and is focused on his performances with Feyenoord.
Per Sport Bild journalists Tobi Altschäffl and Julian Agardi (via @iMiaSanMia) Read would cost €30 million to €35 million:
Givairo Read would be an option for Bayern if there’s a departure in the position, namely Sacha Boey. Read would cost €30-35m. Bayern chief scout Nils Schmadtke in person was in Stuttgart tonight to watch the 19-year old against VfB.
Against Stuttgart, Read completed 26/29 passes (90%), won 8/9 ground duels, had two tackles, and only lost possession eight times in 90 minutes during a 2-0 loss.
Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show: Union Berlin vs. Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich will be traveling to Berlin to square off with The Iron Ones in a match that — on paper — seems like just another team that the Bavarians should dominate.
However, there is at least some risk. Going on the road, just before an international break, and being weary from a super intense match against Paris Saint-Germain could be dangerous. Some would even say this could be a “trap game,”
Bayern Munich, though, could be out to prove it is “trap proof.” So, let’s discuss it all right here — this is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show:
What to watch for with Union Berlin.
A look at Bayern Munich’s injury situation.
A guess at Bayern Munich’s starting XI.
A prediction on the match.

Entertainment Rundown
It: Welcome to Derry — Episode 2
The most recent episode represented an improvement over the premier, but not by much. Let’s get into it:
The premise of the show means that just about every character is NFL (Not For Long), but this precursor to the two movies has yet to really do anything, well, special…or even new.
The show is trying to cram a lot into each episode, but it can be hard to discern exactly how much of it is actually important to focus on.
The military part of the plot is worrying me. As of now, the origin of “It” (at least what we know from the two movies) leaves some mystery to the storyline and certainly adds a lot of intrigue. This plot point could put that at risk and maybe delve too much into things. We’ll have to wait and see how it is handled.
I really — REALLY — want to like this show. I really liked the two movies, but this is just still falling short of the mark. Hopefully, it picks up very soon!
Overall, it was better, just not a whole lot better.
Rating: 6.50/10.00
Predictions
This could be the ultimate trap game for Bayern Munich.
Coming off of two massive wins over Bayer Leverkusen and Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich is also staring down an international break as the team travels to Berlin to face off with The Iron Ones.
If ever there was a time for Bayern Munich to be distracted, it would be for this game. However, this is not your average Bayern Munich team. Talented and versatile, head coach Vincent Kompany will have to weigh exactly how many of his starters (if any) to sit down for this one. No matter who starts, though, Bayern Munich will be deeper and just better.
The tide keeps rolling…
Prediction: Union Berlin 0-4 Bayern Munich
Other Bundesliga predictions:
Werder Bremen 1-1 VfL Wolfsburg
Bayer Leverkusen 3-1 Heidenheim
Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Hamburger SV
Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-2 FC Köln
VfB Stuttgart 1-0 FC Augsburg

RB Leipzig 2-1 Hoffenheim
SC Freiburg 1-0 Union Berlin
