Cleveland Browns Film Room: Malachi Corley's Talent is Intruiging

Under general manager Andrew Berry, the Cleveland Browns have been known for taking low risk high reward chances on talented players who have fallen out of favor at previous stops, and wide receiver Malachi Corley is no different. The 65th overall pick from 2024 has touched the ball only four times on offense this year, but he should be a bigger part of the gameplan over the second half of the 2025 season.

The Jets liked Corley so much that they trade up to snag him with the first pick of the third round, hoping his fantastic YAC ability from college would translate to the NFL. Due to a combination of boneheaded mistakes and reported attitude issues, he barely played as a rookie and was jettisoned by the new regime following the 2025 Preseason. The Browns signed him to their practice squad, and a month later he was elevated to the active roster, where he's been ever since.

Corley has played a total of 31 offensive snaps over four games, typically being used in motion and on designed plays, but there have been some instances where he's been asked to block, which he reportedly was not a fan of doing in New York. No one will be confusing him for Mack Hollins, but Corley is at least giving effort in the run game. In the two clips below, he's the WR with orange cleats, which are easier to pick out than the Browns' low-contrast orange numbers on their brown color rush jerseys.
