Shohei Ohtani Made One Request To Miguel Rojas Following Game 7 Homer

It’s been almost a week since Game 7 of the 2025 World Series, but fans are still recovering from the drama that unfolded. Los Angeles Dodgers fans are enjoying an extended ecstasy, whereas Toronto Blue Jays fans are trying to move on from the depression. One guy who is definitely still soaking up the immaculate vibes is Game 7 hero Miguel Rojas, whose home run in the ninth inning to save the Dodgers’ season will simply never be forgotten. Rojas revealed in a new interview with Chris Rose this week that he plans to play one more MLB season, hopefully with the Dodgers. He also told Rose a funny story about what Shohei Ohtani said to him when he entered the dugout after blasting the iconic, game-tying home run. “I hit the homer, right?” Rojas said. “And everybody’s kind of like on top of me right in front of the dugout. But then (Ohtani is) hitting next, right? He pops it up to left to make it two outs in the inning. He comes back to the dugout, and I’m by the bat rack, like laying (down) my helmet. And Shohei came up to me and he said, ‘Miggy, you can’t retire next year. You’re playing with me for 10 more years.’” Story continues below advertisement “I say, ‘Shohei, I’m old. And I don’t know if I can play for 10 more years, but I’ll play with you next year, for sure.’” Rojas then explained to Rose that he does indeed plan on playing one more season for the Dodgers. “It’s really hard to see myself playing on another team next year,” Rojas said. “And I just want to play one more year. So you can come to your own conclusions and you can actually do the math there. But I’m just playing one more year.” Rojas, a free agent, will turn 37 in February.
