Scott Parker’s side head to the capital sitting three points ahead of the Hammers, who occupy that final spot in the relegation zone.
A victory for the Clarets could hand them a major early boost, stretching out a gap ahead of the November international break. But a defeat would suck them right into trouble.
Who is the referee for West Ham v Burnley?
Michael Salisbury, of Penwortham.
The 40-year-old has overseen just seven games so far this season, dishing out 23 yellow cards and one red.

Three of the seven games have come in the Premier League, two in the Championship and two in the Carabao Cup.
He came under fire back in August when he was on VAR duty for Chelsea’s 2-0 win against their West London rivals Fulham, controversially disallowing what would have been Josh King’s opener for the away side.
Following the furore that followed, Salisbury was subsequently taken off VAR duty for the clash between Liverpool and Arsenal.

What history does he have with Burnley?
The good news is that Salisbury has already officiated a Burnley win this season, taking charge of the 2-0 victory against Sunderland back in August in what was their first home game of the campaign.
It proved to be a fairly uneventful game to officiate, with Salisbury handing out just one booking: to Sunderland’s Simon Adingra.
Lyle Foster did feel slightly aggrieved though when his ‘goal’ was harshly ruled out for an apparent trip on Black Cats defender Jenson Seelt seconds before going through to score.
He was also the man in the middle for two Burnley wins last season: the 5-0 thrashing of Cardiff City and the 2-0 away win against Sheffield Wednesday.
Who is on VAR duty?
Neil Davies will be the man in the VAR booth, assisted by Peter Bankes.
Marc Perry and Natalie Aspinall will be on linesman duty, while James Linington is down to be the fourth official.
