Ruan Pablo’s rise at Bahia has caught Manchester City’s eye, and Pep Guardiola already knows what he can do.
Spanish outletASreports that the City Group forward impressed again at the U17 World Cup after shining in the South American Championship earlier this year, where he won the MVP award.
According to AS, Manchester City manager Guardiola watched the teenager closely last Christmas, when Ruan Pablo trained in Manchester. Born in Salvador, the 17-year-old stands out for his pace, power and technique. He can use both feet and has a natural instinct for goal.
At Bahia, he is already seen as the club’s key prospect. He debuted at only 16 years and one day old and has since played 12 senior matches, scoring once. The club renewed his deal until December 2027 and added a record £169m (€200m) release clause to protect their talent.
His U17 World Cup form – including a goal and a strong display against Honduras – boosted his status within the City Football Group.
Manchester City now face a decision: bring him into their setup soon or let him develop longer in Brazil. Either way, Guardiola will keep following his progress.
