**Alexis Mac Allister is “happy” at Liverpool despite rumoured interest from Real Madrid, according to a fresh update from journalist Pete O’Rourke.**
The Argentine has looked back to his best in the last couple of matches, looking fitter and more in control in the wins over Aston Villa and Real Madrid.
He has been [linked with a move to Madrid](https://live4liverpool.com/liverpool-alexis-mac-allister-real-madrid-transfer-news/) in recent months, as has Ibrahima Konate, but now a new claim has emerged regarding his future.
Speaking to [_Football Insider_](https://www.footballinsider247.com/alexis-mac-allisters-response-to-real-madrid-revealed-after-liverpool-latest/), O’Rourke claimed that Mac Allister is “happy” at Liverpool currently, with no contact made with Madrid.
“This speculation about Mac Allister and Real Madrid has been going on for a while now. The last few transfer windows, there has been talk about it. You just never know,” O’Rourke said.
“Obviously we know that Real Madrid are probably missing a midfielder right now. They haven’t really replaced Tony Kroos or Luka Modric in that midfield engine room.
“His dad previously has spoken about it before saying he was flattered by the interest and would never rule out a move to such a big club like Real Madrid.
“To be fair to the player, he played down speculation in the summer saying he is happy at Liverpool and there had been no contact made.
“As it stands right now, it’s just speculation. He’s happy at Liverpool, Liverpool are happy with McAlister. So I don’t expect any move imminently on that one in there. As I said, Madrid, I’m sure we’ll be looking at a number of players as they normally do.”
**Mac Allister back to his best and priceless for Liverpool**
-------------------------------------------------------------
Selling Mac Allister shouldn’t even bear thinking about for Liverpool at this point in his career, with the 26-year-old much improved after a slow start to the season.
He is a fantastic option for the Reds, not only possessing great technical ability and a strong team ethic, but also a winning mentality that has seen him clinch both World Cup and Premier League glory in his career.
It is easy to see why Mac Allister head could be turned by a move to Madrid, given their stature in the world game, but Liverpool must keep him at all costs.
He is such a key man for the Reds, with his arrival alongside Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai proving to be three masterstrokes by the Reds, and the hope is they all continue at Anfield for many years.
