Patriots get bad news at final practice before Buccaneers game

FOXBORO — It appears the Patriots will be down two of their top offensive players, plus a defensive starter in Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson (toe), wide receiver Kayshon Boutte (hamstring) and linebacker Christian Elliss (hip) all were non-participants in all three practices this week.

Head coach Mike Vrabel will give the Patriots’ injury report Friday around 1 p.m.

TreVeyon Henderson and Terrell Jennings will likely fill in for Stevenson.

Boutte’s snaps should be divvied up between DeMario Douglas and rookie Kyle Williams.

Jack Gibbens, Jahlani Tavai and Marte Mapu should take on bigger roles if Elliss is out.

The Patriots’ offense was not as efficient or high-powered in last Sunday’s win over the Falcons when Stevenson and Boutte were not on the field. We’ll see if they can overcome the losses better this week in a tough matchup with the Bucs on the road in Tampa.
