Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur-linked Morgan Rogers is reportedly expected to sign a new contract with Aston Villa. The forward last agreed to fresh terms less than a year ago, in November 2024, committing his future to the Birmingham-based club until 2030.
However, the Villans have moved to reward him for his progress since joining from Middlesbrough, in January 2024. The Athletic report that an agreement has been reached between the club and Rogers on a new deal, which will be valid until 2031.
Rogers's salary is reportedly set to be significantly increased to reflect his growing importance within Unai Emery's team. The news comes after previous links with Chelsea, who have a reputation for signing young players.
Tottenham were also heavily linked with the 23-year-old after their failed £60million move for Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White. Rogers has also shone on the international stage for Thomas Tuchel's England so far this season and will be looking to earn his place in the Three Lions' World Cup squad for next summer.
The playmaker was at the heart of things during October's international break, with performances which kept him above Jude Bellingham - and former Manchester City youth teammates Phil Foden and Cole Palmer - in the pecking order at No.10 for the Three Lions.
Speaking after the recent friendly win over Wales, Tuchel said: "Morgan was excellent like the whole team, he's very humble, he's very physical. He has the ability to score and to assist.
"He had a fantastic season (in 2024/2025) and he was deservedly voted as the Young Player of the Season in the Premier League. Morgan was one piece of the puzzle, but it's a team effort."

Rogers has also been challenged by Emery to better the stats he produced last season. The Englishman scored 14 goals and provided 16 assists across all competitions for Villa in 2024/25.
"Morgan is improving as the team are improving," Emery said in October. "The goals and assists, his movement and confidence to beat an opponent is helping the team, but I want to see further improvements.
"I want him to match - or beat - the numbers he had for us last season. I also want players to help each other. That way more players will feel like Morgan is feeling, and up their performance level.
"We need to support every player and bring out their individual qualities."
