**Sandro Tonali has sat down for an interview for the official Newcastle United website on the back of his Player of the Match performance against Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday.**
After the game on Wednesday, Sandro Tonali was very honest when asked about his long-term future at Newcastle United, saying that he's happy, but he wouldn't like to say he'll still be here in 10 years' time as a lot can change pretty quickly in football.
That seemed like a fair comment to most people, but to the Italian media, it was an invitation to spout the "Tonali wants to return to Italy" line again, with Corriere della Sera (via [MilanNews](https://www.milannews.it/rassegna-stampa/tonali-nostalgia-rossonera-sandro-ha-confidato-agli-amici-che-gli-piacerebbe-un-giorno-tornare-al-milan-596474)) saying that Tonali has told friends he is 'homesick'.
We obviously understand that Tonali is hardly going to tell the club's media department that he's homesick and wants to leave the club, but he also wouldn't use words like 'perfect' if he wasn't happy.
Sandro Tonali says life at Newcastle is 'perfect'
-------------------------------------------------
In the interview [published on the website](https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/news/i-think-everything-is-perfect-sandro-tonali-opens-up-on-life-at-newcastle) today, Tonali opened up about how much his life changed after his move to Newcastle and how he's looking forward to his son being born In England, saying that right now life is perfect.
> "I'm really happy. I try to live a very easy life. I'm happy with my family, my family is happy here, and so I think this is perfect for me, perfect for my football.
>
> "I play very good football now, so I think everything is perfect now. I don't want to change anything for my life because everything is 100 per cent; everything is very well now and I think this is perfect for me and for my family."
Read the interview and tell me he's homesick!

Those 'friends' of Tonali's are either all about the banter to see if they can get the media back home to print lies, or, and this is way more likely, these people are pure figments of the journalist's imagination along wth the quotes.
The whole interview is well worth a read and gives a much fuller picture of just how happy Tonali is on Tyneside, and it should allay any fears that the talented midfielder has any designs on leaving in the near future.
Sandro is a Geordie!
