While Chelsea have secured the services of a number of top players over the last few years, some potential additions have slipped through the net.
The foundations of an extremely strong side have been built under Enzo Maresca. Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella are amongst the best players in the world in their positions.
While there is huge excitement over the future of Estevao Willian, the wide areas are positions where many people believe they could have invested better.
The likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens are still waiting to break out as top Chelsea players, especially in comparison to some of the best wingers in world football.

One player who is certainly seen in this category now is Michael Olise, after he has come on leaps and bounds since his move to Bayern Munich.
Chelsea were keen on signing Michael Olise before Palmer, however they ended up missing out on the signing to the side who defeated them in their Champions League opener this season.
Micah Richards believes the Frenchman made the right call joining the Bundesliga champions, with him unlikely to get the same opportunities to star at Stamford Bridge.
He said: “He’s took his game to the next level. What a move that was for him. Because if he would have went to City, he might not have played as much as he would have liked.
“Maybe even if he went Chelsea at the time with the wingers that they have for the competition. He’s gone straight into Bayern Munich and played. He missed a couple games when he first went there.
“And after that, he’s just, he’s the main man there, which is crazy for Bayern Munich.”

Why Michael Olise didn’t want to join Chelsea
The Blues were reportedly threatened by Crystal Palace after their attempts to activate Olise’s release clause, however interest remained after that situation.
However, Olise was put off by Chelsea’s wage structure which has been strictly imposed at the club in recent years, and also impacted their efforts to bring in a number of other top players.
Victor Osimhen and Gianluigi Donnarumma are top players who have moved to new clubs over the last year or so, despite being strongly linked with moves to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are committed to sticking to their structure, however will have to bite the bullet when top targets slip through their fingers and go on to become stars elsewhere.
