Lloyd To Play Against Texans | Friday Quick Hits Before Week 10

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars on Friday practiced at the Miller Electric Center.

The Jaguars (5-3) will play the Houston Texans (3-5) at NRG Stadium Houston, Tex., Sunday in a 2025 Week 10 game. A look at Friday around the Jaguars – with Head Coach Liam Coen speaking to the media for the final time before Sunday:

The Jaguars' most productive defensive player is expected to play Sunday.

Linebacker Devin Lloyd, the AFC's Defensive Player of the Month for September, practiced full for a third consecutive day Friday and Coen said he "absolutely" will play against the Texans.

Lloyd missed a 35-7 Week 7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and a 30-29 overtime Week 9 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders this past week with a calf injury. He practiced limited last week, then this week took what Coen called "a consistent volume of reps" without his movement being affected.

"That's really what it came down to," Coen said. "He has been looking great in indy (individual periods) and then in the limited amount of reps he was getting. It was just the volume, the every day, the every play, the every drill going through it pain-free and without any issues."

Lloyd leads the NFL with five takeaways and is tied for the league lead with four interceptions. He had two interceptions in a Week 4 road victory over the San Francisco 49ers, then returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown in a Week 5 home victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jaguars wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is expected to play Sunday after being acquired in a trade with the Raiders Tuesday, with Coen on Friday calling the seventh-year veteran "a pro's pro."

"He has done a great job going and getting lined up, studying," Coen said. "He needs to go get some rest over these next few days here, but I've appreciated the work he's put into it for sure."

Meyers has 33 receptions for 352 yards and no touchdowns this season after having 87 receptions for 1,027 yards and four touchdowns in 2024.
