Colin Cowherd asks fascinating question about Sean Payton and Bo Nix

Colin Cowherd is one of the top radio hosts and media personalities in the country.

He also happens to be very good friends with Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton.

And while Cowherd is usually driving the Broncos hype train, he asked a fascinating question about Payton and his QB Bo Nix on Friday’s show.

This comes after Nix struggled mightily in an ugly 10-7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football. Despite Denver improving to 8-2 and winning its seventh straight game, Nix threw for only 150 yards and also had two interceptions.

His footwork looked off, Nix was missing easy throws and Empower Field at Mile High booed the Broncos offense on more than one occasion.

So, when Colin Cowherd posed this question, it raised some eyebrows in Denver.

The whole clip is worth watching, as Cowherd lays out some interesting points. He says Nix looks like he’s playing “nervous” and with “anxiety.” Cowherd adds that he thinks something is “not right upstairs” with the Broncos second-year quarterback.

Colin Cowherd goes on to point out that Payton is an “impatient guy” and wonders allowed if he might draft a QB next year to either replace Nix or put some pressure on him.

The question feels insane on the surface, as Denver has the most wins in the entire NFL. But you also have to remember that Cowherd and Payton are buddies, which makes it a little curious he’s floating this theory.

Did Colin Cowherd hear something from Payton? Or is this pure speculation on his part?

Those are answers we may never get, but it’s worth putting on the radar. If Payton is indeed frustrated with Nix, how long will he see this through before exploring other QB options?

Nothing is imminent for now — the NFL Draft is still about six months away — but it’s definitely something to watch if the Broncos offense can’t figure things out in a hurry.
