Predicted Liverpool team vs Manchester City

Liverpool travel to the Etihad Stadium this weekend for a showdown with Manchester City, a meeting between the current and former Premier League champions.

Both teams are playing their third game in a week, though there’s an argument that Liverpool may be the fresher side.

The Reds saw off Real Madrid 24 hours before City’s 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Despite winning their last two games at Anfield, the Reds have lost their previous three away fixtures in the Premier League, all of which came in London.

Man City, meanwhile, are unbeaten at home since August and will be looking to crown a perfect week with a third consecutive victory.

Arne Slot has revealed that Alexander Isak will return to training today ahead of the trip to Manchester.

The 26-year-old has missed Liverpool’s last four matches with a groin issue.

Slot also confirmed that Alisson Becker is expected to be available again immediately after the November international break.

However, Jeremie Frimpong’s recovery will continue beyond the meeting with Nottingham Forest on November 22.

“He will train for the first time today with the team again, after being three weeks out,” Slot replied.

“I know that I said three weeks ago that his pre-season has ended so now it’s time for us to see where he is.

“But I have to come back to those words, because if you are three weeks only with the rehab, that doesn’t bring you back to the levels he was three weeks ago.

“Although, our rehab team is doing an incredible job.

“But you cannot compare rehab with games of football or training sessions with the team.

“As much as we try to replicate it, that’s simply not possible.

“So, again I have to say, give him some time.”

Slot added: “Alisson for sure and I expect Jeremie back after the international break as well because we play from November until March!

“But I don’t expect Jeremie to be fully fit for Forest, but with Alisson we expect this.”

Below is Liverpool’s predicted team to face Manchester City:

Mamardashvili; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Ekitike.
