Andoni Iraola is ‘happy’ for Alex Scott after national recognition

Andoni Iraola talked about Alex Scott as he got the call-up to be a part of the **England**squad.

The **Bournemouth**midfielder had been making waves at Bristol City, and he has found a home in the Iraola system to show his strengths in the Premier League, putting a smile on the Spaniard’s face.

“I'm very pleased for him. I think he has been playing very well. Also, I suppose the good performance with the under 21s in the summer has been also very valuable and very happy for him and also happy for the club because he's always in an English club. To have someone representing your country, I think is good, especially for him. But also for the club. Yes.

“Everyone was very excited. He had the classical corridor we give for special occasions. And he obviously was very happy. Yes.

“I hope we can see them facing each other. No. It's also good news that Veljko Milosavljevic has been called again with the national team. Djordje Petrovic normally always goes. So it's good to have this representation now in such a big game.

“Alex is very smart and he knows a lot of the teammates also from the young teams. And for sure he has to use this chance to learn everything he can and also keep fighting, keep being very humble. So it's not just once. And he has more chances now to establish himself and to earn more opportunities.

“At the beginning Alex was playing in a more advanced position as a ten a lot of games. I think both of them best position is the number eight position. And it’s not easy because also I have good number tens, I have very good number sixes. So for me to take this decision is not easy, but I think it's good because you will always have someone waiting and fighting for the position that also you trust a lot.”
