Unai Emery offered thoughts on positive news for three of his players.
Youri Tielemans has been out of action for weeks with an ongoing calf complaint. He was the **Aston Villa**Player of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign, and his presence as a passer in the midfield unit will be welcomed back into the matchday squad for a side whose double pivot has excelled recently.
Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana stood out against **Man City**in a 1-0 victory at Villa Park a fortnight ago, and with the Belgian back in contention, Emery has the right sorts of headaches again.
Meanwhile, he congratulated Ezri Konsa and Morgan Rogers for their recognition with England. Called up to the Three Lions squad, the pair have been key parts of the team’s competitiveness.
“Very good news. [Youri] has come back, and understanding during the season, we can have some players injured, of course, we have to be ready with every player, to get our performances, when they are not, for different circumstances, but like Tielemans for his injury.
“But yesterday, he came back and he played a very good 10 or 15 minutes, and he is progressively getting better, fit and avoid some risk to have again one injury.
“Tomorrow we will train. Today morning we trained, tomorrow we will train, and on Sunday, if everything is going well, he will be available to be with the team and maybe he can start in the starting 11. It depends.”
“So, so happy with every player, they are in the national team. And of course, Konsa and Morgan is something special, because they are involved in the national team consistently, the last year.
“And of course, the World Cup for them is very important, and I am so proud of those players, and the other players, they are going with the national team and defending their country.”
