Scott for England, European dreams, Foley and heat training: Chris Billam-Smith

I won’t though, because I believe in the club and have good reason to. I was fortunate enough to see and speak to Bill Foley after the Forest game. If we didn’t know it already, we are in safe hands. We spoke about a few things. All of the conversations ended up in Bill mentioning positives and winning. It is so reassuring as a fan AND a competitor to get that insight to his mindset and know that as a club, we are only going to improve. I made sure to take the opportunity to thank Bill for what he has done so far for our club on behalf of all of us supporters.

It was a tough one against City. How DO you contain Erling Haaland? A mystery that seems unsolvable to all the defenders in the premier league and beyond. Pressing him too much and leaving space in behind definitely isn't the way as was proven last week.

It was great to see Tyler Adams get his first goal for the club though. [When I sat down with him and Alex Scott for 'Truth or Jab' at Chicken and Blues a few years back, Alex Scott said if he could teach Tyler one thing, it would be to shoot.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?ref=ed_direct) Maybe they've been working on it.

On that note. A huge congratulations to Alex on his England call up. Thomas Tuchel obviously read in this paper that there is a Guernsey Kaka down south, came to see what it was all about and agreed he is the goods. I am so happy for Alex and look forward to seeing him grab any opportunity he gets with both feet.

Two very tough, back-to-back away games for the lads with Villa away tomorrow. With them having played in Europe on Thursday at Villa park, I am sure Unai Emery wouldn’t want to be playing a team that have high energy, high press and high intensity. I expect we can use that to our advantage and punish some tired legs. Let's hope that's the case.

My training has been interesting the last few weeks. I have been doing some 'heat' training. Unfortunately not abroad in the sun, but over in Hinton at Precision Fuel and Hydration. They are a company who provide lots of different services such as sweat tests, fuelling, electrolytes as well as their 'Heat Lab' facility which is where I have been frequenting. I have done one hour on a treadmill in a 39⁰C room, three days a week, for the last two weeks. I get weighed before and after, as does my fluid consumption to measure how much sweat I lose in the hour. The most I lost in one hour was three litres. That's over nine standard soft drink cans. In sweat. In ONE hour. It wasn't comfortable, due to the heat, but it's a good start to building up the engine to improve get back to a sub 20 minute park run, start a solid training camp OR be ready for the Padel Circulo tournament on 29th November. I guess all of the above.

Have a great weekend all.
