The Green Bay Packers are getting ready for a high-profile matchup this coming Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lambeau Field.
With the reigning Super Bowl champions coming to town, Green Bay doesn’t need to be reminded that it will have to be at its best versus the Eagles, who return to action after a bye in Week 9. Philadelphia has also won its lats two games, while the Packer are trying to get back on track after getting tripped up by in a 16-13 home loss to the Carolina Panthers.
The Panthers game could have had a much more favorable result for Green Bay had kicker Brandon McManus converted all his field-goal attempts. McManus made field goals from 49 and 27 yards out but failed to find the spot on a 43-yard try in the third quarter.

Apart from McManus, the Packers also had Lucas Havrisik at practice on Thursday, prompting some questions about who will kick for the team going forward.
To that end, special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia believes that the Packers are going to stick with McManus.
“Brandon McManus,” Bisaccia said, per Zach Kruse of Packers Wire. “Ask the head coach. But if you’re asking me, it’s Brandon McManus. I didn’t see it as a competition this week. I saw it as he’s getting healthier and he’s had a pretty good week kicking the ball.”
So far in the 2025 NFL season, McManus is 11-of-16 on field goal tries, with all his misses coming from 40 yards and beyond.
Havrisik, on the other hand, has gone 4-for-4 with a conversion from 61 yards against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7.
Through Friday, Green Bay still has both McManus and Havrisik on the 53-man roster, so it will be interesting to see what the final decision will be on this end.
