Chelsea Receive Major Injury Boost As Maresca Names Player In Travelling Party

**Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has confirmed that winger Pedro Neto could be included in the matchday squad for the match against his former club Wolves.**

The Portuguese international did not play [**against Qarabag**](https://chelseanews.com/blog/chelsea-player-ratings-qarabag/) due to a knock, but speaking in his pre-match press conference, Maresca provided a positive update on the player’s fitness:

“He had a session yesterday with the physio outside on the pitch. It was good, and today he will travel with us and then we’ll take the final decision.”

Neto wil be vying for a starting spot with Estevao. The Brazilian international was impressive in Azerbaijan and many believe he deserves an extended run in the first eleven.

Maresca has also issued an update on Lavia

------------------------------------------

Romeo Lavia was forced off with a muscular injury in the opening minutes of the draw versus Qarabag midweek.

Maresca has not provided any further information on the nature of the problem, but it sounds as if the medical staff are still assessing how long he could be out for:

“We need to wait still some hours to do all the checks that he needs, but for sure,e at the moment he’s injured. It’s painful, so we need to do all the checks, and then we’ll see. It’s a shame.”

“It’s a shame in this moment also because we are trying to minimise minutes for him. But even with that, he’s injured again. We need to insist until we don’t find the right solution for him.”

4 other Chelsea players are still injured

-----------------------------------------

It appears Benoit Badiahsile will return right after the international break. The Frenchman has not featured since being substituted during the 2-1 win over Liverpool last month.

There are no real updates on the likes of Cole Palmer, Dario Essugo and Levi Colwill. Some have predicted that Palmer will return to fitness later this month, but Maresca is being cautious. Essugo underwent surgery on a thigh injury in September and won’t return until January at the earliest, while Colwill is set to miss most of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament before the first game of the campaign.
