Dominic Calvert-Lewin posts on Instagram as he races to be fit for Nottingham Forest v Leeds United

Leeds United forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin has given fans a glimmer of hope ahead of the trip to face Nottingham Forest after posting images from training on Instagram.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a doubt for Leeds’ trip to the City Ground after he left the field with an injury at the end of the defeat against Brighton.

Speaking in his weekly press conference, Leeds boss Daniel Farke confirmed that the former England international was carrying an adductor strain and that Calvert-Lewin had played a limited role in training this week.

If Calvert-Lewin is not fit to take his place in the Leeds side for the trip to the East Midlands, Joel Piroe and Lukas Nmecha are in line to start as Farke may be forced to change his system.

However, Calvert-Lewin has offered some hope to Leeds fans after he posted images of himself in training ahead of the Premier League clash.

Posting on his personal Instagram page, Calvert-Lewin shared several pictures of himself taking part in Leeds United training ahead of the game against Forest.

This may represent a step forward for the Leeds man, as Farke had stated that he had not joined in team training when speaking in his press conference ahead of the game.

Calvert-Lewin has started every game for Leeds since the first international break, leading the line for the first time in the narrow 1-0 defeat against Fulham, after making his Premier League debut from the bench against Newcastle.

Having seemingly returned to the training field in the build-up to the game against Forest, Farke will be hoping that his number nine can continue his run of appearances in the game against Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest side.

When did Dominic Calvert-Lewin last miss a game through injury?

Calvert-Lewin arrived at Elland Road with a track record of being injury-prone, having seen his time at Everton be disrupted by a succession of setbacks.

However, the striker has enjoyed an injury-free run since forcing his way into the Leeds team. Calvert-Lewin missed Leeds’ first two games of the season as he built up his fitness, but this was not down to injury.

His last significant injury came in the second half of last season, when he missed 14 games of Everton’s season with a hamstring injury, according to TransferMarkt.

Leeds will be relieved that Calvert-Lewin has not injured his hamstring. The striker has had six separate hamstring injuries between 2022 and 2025, resulting in him missing 35 games.
