Nuno Espirito Santo has made it clear that deficiencies in the senior squad will be made good by bringing academy players through to fill the gaps – as news filtered through yesterday that four young Hammers had been in daily training with the first team. Ezra Mayers, Finlay Herrick, Airidas Golambeckis, and Mohamadou Kante have apparently been fast-tracked through to training with the seniors – as is visible in yesterday’s ‘Inside Rush Green’ training video released ahead of today’s Burnley clash.
West Ham put Liverpool u21’s to the sword
Marauding midfielder Kanté was on duty last night for the Hammers’ u21 Premier league 2 home fixture against Liverpool which the Hammers won at an absolute canter, 3 – 0 in what really should have been a 5 – 0 rout had a penalty been converted and a goal not been ruled out for ‘offside’.
However the fixture was notable for two stunning goals – one from Josh Ajala and a ‘screamer’ from first team fringe midfielder Kanté – take a look:

Tall, combative, occasionally clumsy and by no means the finished article – yet -= but with the kind of presence that can turn matches on their head, we feel that it won’t be long before the 20 year old is knocking on them door for a place in the senior line – up.
It’s a pretty good time to be an u21 watcher – if you’ve lost your Hammers mojo, a cheeky Friday night ‘evening in’with YouTube can work wonders.
