Liverpool U21s suffered a 3-0 defeat to West Ham in their final league game of 2025, which means Stefan Bajcetic has one chance left to play for the youth side this year.

Due to a quirk in the U21s’ schedule, Rob Page’s side will finish their competitive games for the year on Tuesday night when they visit Chesterfield in the Vertu Trophy.
Their final league game of 2025 came on Friday night with a trip to West Ham‘s Rush Green, with a strong side available including Calvin Ramsay, Kieran Morrison, Kaide Gordon and the in-form Keyrol Figueroa.
Unfortunately, after an even first half, Liverpool were consigned to a comprehensive defeat as the hosts scored three in 25 minutes as well as seeing a penalty saved.
It was Callum Marshall who broke the deadlock soon after the restart, capitalising on an error at the back, before Joshua Ajala made it 2-0 with a fine finish.

Mohamadou Kante rounded off the scoring with a stunning strike from range, before Kornel Misciur denied Jethro Medine from the spot to avoid further misery for the young Reds.
Page made a number of changes during the game, no doubt with a clash with senior opposition next week in mind, and it remains to be seen if Figueroa’s half-time substitution was injury-related.
Many of the players involved at West Ham will travel to Chesterfield for the Vertu Trophy closer, with the more experienced likes of Rhys Williams and Jay Spearing also expected to take part.
But it is unclear if Bajcetic, who is slated to build up his fitness with the U21s upon his recovery from a long-term hamstring injury, is ready to feature.

The Spaniard has continued his rehabilitation alongside the first team and it appears doubtful he will play – at least in a competitive game – before the end of the year.
Liverpool are due to schedule a number of friendlies to keep their U21s up to speed in the final weeks of the year, and the hope will be that Bajcetic can at least join Page’s side for those.
The same could be said for striker Will Wright, while return dates for the likes of Jayden Danns, Luke Chambers and Calum Scanlon are further off.
Liverpool U21s: Misciur; Ramsay, Lucky, Nallo, Ewing (Bradshaw 62′); Laffey, Pilling (Pinnington 85′); Morrison, Gordon, Kone-Doherty (Onanuga 62′); Figueroa (Davidson 46′)
