Anthony Gordon decision made - Our predicted Starting XI as Newcastle United take on Brentford

**Newcastle United go to the G-Tech Community Stadium to take on Brentford on Sunday in search of their first away win in the Premier League this season. Kick off is at 2 pm live on Sky Sports.**

The situation with Newcastle's away form is becoming desperate. After not beating West Ham last week, the confidence going into this one is low.

Newcastle don't have the best of records against Brentford on their turf, losing 4-2 last time out.

Eddie Howe has a couple of big calls to make for this one, but none bigger than whether to risk Anthony Gordon, who was taken off during the last two games with a hip injury.

We're not 100% on this

### Goakeeper

**Nick Pope** - Recently recalled to the England squad, he's hardly going to be rewarded by being dropped.

### Defenders

**Kieran Trippier** - It's actually scary how much we missed him last Sunday. We're so glad he's back this week.

**Malick Thiaw** - Recalled to the Germany squad and rightly so, he has been tremendous for us this season.

**Sven Botman** - Overlooked for the Netherlands again. We don't get it. He's been superb.

**Dan Burn** - We're getting close to Lewis Hall starting, but we think this game may come just a bit too soon for that.

### Midfielders

**Bruno Guimaraes (c)** - Admitted he wasn't 100% on Wednesday, but still looked a lot brighter. He should be fine for Sunday.

**Sandro Tonali** - Super Sandro. We can't imagine a world in which he's fully fit and he isn't selected.

**Joelinton** - He looked like a change man on Wednesday. Let's hope he can continue that form into Sunday.

### Forwards

**Jacob Murphy** - Missed out on starting on Wednesday, but did well when he came on. Earned the right to start on Sunday.

**Nick Woltemade** - The only option we have up top with Yoane Wissa and Will Osula injured. We need to get him into the game more.

**Harvey Barnes** - Common sense says start Barnes with Anthony Gordon carrying a knock, but we're not sure that's what Eddie Howe will do.

Again, we have the players to cause Brentford a lot of problems, but we've said that for every away game this season and they've just not turned up.

It's not going to be easy, but it can be done.
