Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is absent against Tottenham due to a knock.
The Manchester Evening News revealed on Friday that Mainoo had not travelled with the squad.
Ruben Amorim did not clarify the team news at his pre-match press conference, but Mainoo has picked up a knock which has ruled him out of the visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Jack Fletcher has been drafted into the squad to replace Mainoo. Fletcher’s inclusion has continued United's 88-year record of featuring an academy graduate in every matchday squad.
United have included an academy graduate in their squad for 4,332 successive games.
"I don't want to be the guy that broke that record," Amorim said in September about not breaking the record. "If you see the past of Manchester United, it's built on kids that grew up here and stayed here for a long time. I think that should be our goal in the future. So I will try to maintain that."
Mainoo has not started in the Premier League this season. The midfielder's only start of the campaign came against Grimsby Town at Blundell Park in the Carabao Cup second round.
The 20-year-old requested to leave on loan in the summer transfer window for the sake of regular minutes, but Amorim blocked the request and explained that Mainoo was competing with Bruno Fernandes.
Mainoo has made seven appearances from the bench in the league this season.
