Mathues Cunha has revealed details of his conversation with Ruben Amorim in the Old Trafford tunnel last season, which he claimed built 'a connection' with the Manchester United boss ahead of his summer move.
The Brazilian attacker had starred for Wolves last season, scoring 17 goals in 36 matches, and impressed against Man United on two occasions.
Cunha scored and provided an assist in a 2-0 win at Molineux on Boxing Day, with Wolves completing a league double by winning 1-0 at Old Trafford in April.
Wolves away victory came amid growing speculation that Cunha would complete a move to Man United during the summer transfer window.
The links intensified when Amorim was seen putting his arm around Cunha while they walked down the tunnel at half time at Old Trafford.
Cunha would ultimately complete a £62.5million move to Man United in the summer, with the 26-year-old having become a vital part of Amorim's attack this season.

In an interview with the Sun, Cunha addressed the tunnel exchange and admitted it had helped to build a 'good connection' with the Portuguese coach.
‘He said, “Hey, take care today. What do you feel about the stadium?”' Cunha said.
‘After the first game, Wolves against United, it was a good moment to feel like we have this connection.
‘Wolves is very passionate. We discussed a little bit in the game and he [said] something to me.
‘And then I said, “Hey, take care of that thing” or something like that.'
Cunha admitted that working under Amorim is 'intense', as he praised the Man United manager's 'energy and passion' in his efforts to improve players and the Red Devils' fortunes.
The Brazilian has played in nine of Man United's 10 Premier League matches this season heading into their clash against Tottenham.
Amorim this week talked up Cunha's performances since his move, with the Man United boss labelling him as a 'maverick'.

'It's hard to find in some players because he plays with the ball, but he has an aura about him that can do something to the opponent's heads, and that is really important,' Amorim told the Men in Blazers.
Cunha has scored just one so far since his big-money move from Wolves, netting in a 4-2 victory over Brighton last month.
The forward has been key to a recent resurgence under Amorim, with the Red Devils unbeaten in their last four matches in the league.
This included victories over Liverpool, Brighton and Sunderland, before a draw against Nottingham Forest last week.
