Eagles trade for $96 million star receiver still being talked about after 3 years

Bleacher Report went through each NFL team's best trades throughout their franchise history, and the result may be extremely surprising to some Eagles fans. Bleacher Report believes the recent acquisition of A.J. Brown during the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Philadelphia Eagles Received: WR A.J. Brown

Tennessee Titans Received: 2022 First-Round Pick, 2022 Third-Round Pick

Eagles fleeced the Titans with greatest trade in franchise history

The Eagles took full advantage of the Titans ' inability to re-sign A.J. Brown to an extension after his third season in Tennessee. Brown put together 1,000-yard seasons in two out of three years during the first part of his career and still couldn't manage a contract extension, leading to Eagles general manager Howie Roseman making a call.

"This wasn't my fault," Brown told ESPN'sTurron Davenportafter the trade. "I wanted to stay, but the deal they offered was a low offer."

Roseman, being ever the opportunist, was able to trade the Eagles' 2022 first-round pick (18th overall) and 2022 third-round pick (101st overall). The Titans would use the Eagles' draft capital on Treylon Burks and traded the 101st pick for their own first-round pick (26th overall) to the Jets for picks 35 and 69.

What happened for the Titans? Well, Burks (18th overall) has been released by Tennessee (now with the Commanders), while pick number 35 became Roger McCreary (now with the Rams), and pick number 69 became Nicholas Petit-Frere, who is currently not on any NFL team.

Since Brown joined the Eagles, he's been to two Pro Bowls, earned three All-Pros, been to two Super Bowls, and won one. Brown totaled 4,426 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns while serving as a key piece in helping Jalen Hurts continue to develop into the team's franchise quarterback. Also, it's worth noting that Brown was extended to a four-year, $100 million contract shortly after being required.

The Brown-Titans trade so far has paid off dividends for the franchise despite the "antics" that have transpired over the past several weeks. The Eagles have amassed a record of 51-16 (playoffs included), while also seeing Brown succeed on an individual basis. The Titans haven't seen a quarter of success with Treylon Burks not even amassing the same amount of production in his career as Brown has even in a "down year".
