“It’s difficult” – Enzo Maresca reveals why he thinks Wolves game will be tough for Chelsea

Enzo Maresca has revealed several reasons as to why he believes Chelsea’s game against Wolves on Saturday night won’t be easy.

Chelsea welcome the Premier League’s bottom side to Stamford Bridge looking to return to winning ways after a disappointing 2-2 draw against Qarabag on Wednesday.

Wolves are without a manager having sacked Vitor Pereira, and haven’t won any of their opening ten league matches.

Enzo Maresca on why Wolves game will be tough

Chelsea played Wolves last week in the Carabao Cup in a crazy game the Blues ended up winning 4-3 despite being 3-0 up at half time.

Pedro Neto is expected to be fit to face his former club, whilst Maresca has revealed Estevao is ready to start more games.

Maresca has faced criticism for the amount of rotation this season, but that will likely continue on Saturday night.

It’s a game Chelsea should be winning, but speaking before the game Maresca gave a number of reasons as to why it’ll be difficult.

“It was, you know, first half very good, second half we struggled (in the cup tie),” Maresca told his pre-match press conference.

“But also they changed the manager, the one that is in charge now. For sure, some similarity, but at the end, again, these are the games that we need to win.

“When you do the right things against Liverpool, when you do the right things against Tottenham, then you have to confirm that. You have to continue to do that.

Difficult task against team with no manager

Wolves will be managed by Under-21 head coach James Collins and Under-18 head coach Richard Walker, and Maresca feels facing a side with no manager makes the task harder.

Liam Delap laments his red card.

“It’s difficult for this reason. Also it’s difficult because, as I said, we played Wednesday night.

“Yesterday the players were off. We have a small session today (Friday) and we have a game tomorrow. So it’s also the game plan that is different.”
