Predicted Leeds XI to face Nottingham Forest as Daniel Farke makes Dominic Calvert-Lewin call - Opinion

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has several difficult decisions to make as he looks to get back to winning ways when his side take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

The fitness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the most pressing issue for the Leeds boss, as the former England international looks to recover from a minor injury to take his place in the side.

However, Farke has a welcome dilemma heading into the game as he mulls over whether to include the returning Dan James and Willy Gnonto in his starting side.

By contrast, Sean Dyche has a growing list of injuries to deal with as centre forward Chris Wood looks set to miss the clash at the City Ground.

As Leeds look for their first top-flight win away against Forest since the Don Revie era, here is how they could line up in the crucial Premier League clash.

Farke has a relatively clean bill of health heading into the game, having provided an update on Calvert-Lewin’s fitness.

According to Farke, Calvert-Lewin suffered a minor adductor strain, which caused him to be substituted against Brighton, causing him to miss training this week.

Summer signing Sebastiaan Bornauw is also a doubt heading into the game, having taken a blow to his MCL.

However, Farke confirmed that Gnonto and James are fit to take their place in the squad, as is Harry Gray, who completed 90 minutes for the Leeds under-21s last weekend.

Leeds have only scored in one away game this season, as they put three past Premier League strugglers Wolves in a 3-1 win.

With the pressure building on Farke, he could return to the template that worked so well on that occasion to end his side’s barren away run.

Despite being criticised after the Brighton game, Lucas Perri will retain his place, as will Jaka Bijol, as Farke stays consistent with his back five.

Anton Stach will return in midfield in the place of Ao Tanaka to give Leeds more physical presence, with James slotting in on the right wing, to allow Brenden Aaronson to come off the bench to keep the tempo up late in the game.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be fit to lead the line at the City Ground, in a crucial boost to Farke’s hopes of claiming a win.
