Federico Chiesa gives his honest prediction for Alexander Isak's Liverpool career

Federico Chiesa has made a prediction for Alexander Isak after a slow start to the striker’s Liverpool career.

Isak is the British record transfer following his late summer move from Newcastle United to Anfield.

So far, however, fellow striker signing Hugo Ekitike is outshining the Swede in the 2025/26 campaign.

Isak has finally returned to training this week ahead of Manchester City and will be looking to add to his one goal in eight appearances once he is back in the squad.

Federico Chiesa backs Alexander Isak to score a lot at Liverpool

Now, Federico Chiesa has been discussing the former Newcastle ace in an interview with Sky Sports.

The Italian was asked to sum up a number of his Liverpool teammates in just one word.

Chiesa called Isak clinical despite his lack of goals so far before predicting he will score a lot for the Reds.

He said: “I would say clinical, even though he didn’t score a lot yet. But I think he will because he knows how to score goals, and he’s shown that in the Premier League.”

What Federico Chiesa thinks about Hugo Ekitike

In Isak’s absence, Ekitike has earned praise after finding the back of the net six times in 15 matches.

Arne Slot wants the Frenchman to improve in one key area, but Chiesa has now outlined one part of the 23-year-old’s game that is impressive.

Asked to describe Ekitike in one word, the ex-Juventus winger highlighted how skilful the striker is.

He said: “Skilful.” Asked how good the Frenchman has been, Chiesa continued: “He’s adapted so quick. So quick for the intensity of the Premier League.

“But his skillset, he has very good technique.”

Jamie Carragher is worried about Ekitike and Isak playing together, but the former could be moved out wide to make room for Liverpool’s record signing.
