MMBets: Mavericks at Wizards — A Must-Win for Dignity?

The Dallas Mavericks (2–7) limp into Washington on the second night of a back-to-back to face the 1–8 Wizards, who somehow have their only win of the season against Dallas. Tipoff is set for 6:00 PM CT. Let’s scan the lines in search of value.

Dallas is now 0–3 on the road and struggling to generate consistent offense or cohesion. They just dropped their third straight game in Memphis, falling 118–104 after a lifeless first half. Meanwhile, Washington was blown out by Cleveland in their last outing — but they’re rested and home, while Dallas may be emotionally cooked.

Both teams are missing rotation players. The Mavericks remain without Dante Exum, Dereck Lively II, Anthony Davis, and Kyrie Irving. Washington will be without promising rookie Kyshawn George, who erupted for a career-high 34 points in the last meeting between these teams.

Tipoff: 6:00 PM CT — Capital One Arena, Washington, D.C.

How To Watch: KFAA-TV, Mavs.com

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook as of 2:30 AM CST

Spread: Dallas -3.5 (-115) / Washington +3.5 (-105)

Total: 230.5 (O -110 / U -110)

Moneyline: DAL -180 / WAS +150

Washington +3.5

Lean: Under 230.5

There is no talent-based reason Dallas should be this fragile, but watching them? The chemistry - and the offense - is broken. The Mavs are on the second night of a back-to-back, winless on the road, and just gave up 74 points in the first half to Memphis. Washington isn’t good, but they already beat Dallas once, and now get them at home. If the Mavs show up flat again, the Wizards have enough scoring punch to hang around or even win outright.

With both teams banged up and struggling to finish plays, we lean toward the under as well.

Alex Sarr over 18 points (-106)

With Kyshawn George sidelined, the rookie center becomes the Wizards’ most consistent interior weapon. Sarr has cleared this number in four of his last five and just put up 20 against Cleveland. The Mavericks’ frontcourt is missing both Lively and Davis, and just gave up 29 to Jaren Jackson Jr.

Max Christie over 14 points (-108)

Dallas is lost offensively, but Christie is one of the few bright spots. In a game where someone has to score, Christie’s usage and confidence make him a solid target.
