Estimate in as footage shows astonishing turnout for biggest protest march ever against West…

Video footage, images and estimates show the latest protest from West Ham fans against the club’s owners to be the biggest ever.

If West Ham’s owners thought the impressive win over Newcastle might dampen the appetite for protests against them they were sorely mistaken.

Although the Hammers board did not help themselves following the 3-1 victory over the Magpies last week.

West Ham’s owners were accused of drowning out protesting fans as they staged a mass sit-in after the Newcastle game.

That only served to add to the anti-board sentiment among many fans who have vowed to continue their campaign of activism all season until they force the owners out – or, at the very least, into significant changes from top to bottom.

Estimate in for mass West Ham protest march

Supporters have been protesting since a public declaration of no confidence in the ownership from the West Ham Fan Advisory Board in September.

Two meetings have taken place between the FAB and the Hammers hierarchy, including vice-chair Karren Brady – who fans want out along with majority owner David Sullivan.

There have been black balloons released at away games, fans lined the road leading to the director’s entrance at the London Stadium before a home defeat to Crystal Palace, they boycotted the home loss to Brentford and performed a sit-in after Newcastle.

Fan group Hammers United wanted to ensure their latest protest plans wouldn’t be easily drowned out.

The group boasts a 25,000-strong membership.

So when they called on fans to try and make the march before the Burnley game the biggest ever in order to get their message across, it had the potential to make headlines.

And it has done just that.

Images and video from the protest, which ended at the director’s entrance, show a huge number of West Ham fans in attendance as part of the ‘No More BS’ campaign aimed at Brady and Sullivan.

Hammers News was in attendance and estimated around 12,000 fans attended the mass march.

Fellow West Ham site Knees Up Mother Brown estimate slightly less at around 10,000 fans attending.

Either way that makes it the largest ever organised mass march against the West Ham owners.

The impressive numbers for the anti-board protest exceed the estimated 8,500 who attended a similar uprising in 2020.

Some West Ham fans have said they were emotional seeing just how many turned out for the protest.

Supporters also arranged for a West Ham-themed hearse to drive to the London Stadium as part of the protest, which you can see below.

Some fans even carried a coffin on their shoulders to the game, symbolic of the death of West Ham they accuse the ownership of causing.

Supporters refused to be drowned out by London Stadium announcements as they protested outside the ground.

And many of them were there for the march but refused to actually enter the stadium, preferring to boycott instead.

Chants aimed at the board rang out during the march.

The latest protest has already got traction from leading sports media outlets, which only helps spread the message of the fans involved.

A penny for the thoughts of Sullivan and Brady, who will be in attendance for the game against Burnley.

West Ham will climb above Burnley and out of the relegation zone with a 3-0 win over the Clarets.
